Whether deliberating over significant decisions\, healing from an illness\, or finding your footing on a new path\, this process yields incredibly rich results: messages from deep within and awe-inspiring gifts from which to benefit for a lifetime. This is a self-inquiry process like no other! \n\n\n\nFor Would-be Creatives… \n\n\n\nHave you ever wanted to paint but didn’t know how to begin? Are you an artist experiencing a blockage? Does an inner voice prompt you to dig deeply to tap the mystery of your creative flow\, your life force\, the Source? It’s time to awaken the artist within you! Nature in Me© Process Painting allows one to authentically feel\, explore core archetypes and express personal imagery necessary for powerful transformation!With the use of simple materials and the option of other unique  techniques in a supportive environment\, participants embark upon a rich and life changing personal journey of discovery. Based on Aviva Gold’s work\, Painting from the Source\, (www.paintingfromthesource.com)\, this process will benefit both non-artists and artists who wish to fruitfully further their inner dialogue and/or rejuvenate their creative practices. It never leaves\, regardless of whether or not we pay attention to it. Some of us\, however\, get stuck at some point or never know how to begin. Full retreat description below. \n\n\n\nWhat is Nature in Me© Process Painting?\n\n\n\nThe Nature in Me Process Painting retreat weekend provides an opportunity for non-artists and artists alike to experience the transformative energy of creativity through paint. Encouraged to approach humble materials with the curiosity of a child\, participants will paint in a free flowing manner to achieve non-preconceived images and personally derived symbols of significance. Throughout the weekend\, in response to their paintings\, participants will have the option to use additionally powerful techniques to gain greater clarity\, based on the emotions\, thoughts and visions which intuitively surface. Public reception to follow. \n\n\n\nWhat Is A Tent Talk? \n\n\n\nA tent talk is a dynamic conversation on a chosen theme held in a tent on lawn chairs. The conversation is broadcast through ZOOM as well as recorded and uploaded to a website as a podcast. Two people discuss controversial topics of everyday life while a third person (Kathryn Ricketts) keeps the ball rolling! \n\n\n\nGoing inside a tent\, just as we did when we were kids with homemade forts\, becomes an environment for bold and thoughtful conversations. The tent provides an atmosphere that is both private and cozy and yet public with the live broadcast to the listening community. \n\n\n\nThis conversation promises to be entertaining as we explore a sense of home and place at the Gateway of Grasslands National Park. Ricketts will hold the conversation inside the tent with two locals: Madonna Hamel\, a journalist/artist/writer who has lived and worked worldwide but chose several years ago to live in Val Marie given her maternal roots\, plus long-time local farmer Maurice Cote whose land borders the Grasslands National Park.  \n\n\n\n\nTent Talks are free and take place outside of Sky Story Studio.  \n\n\n\n\n“Tent Talks enable conversations that are cozy on topics that can be challenging. SUMMARY:Visions & Longings: A Retreat to Explore Land & Human Life Force
DESCRIPTION:Register by June 30 for early bird rate $845  \n\n\n\nWe are Nature! Through the concepts of natural law and darshan we’ll immerse for a weekend in how to know ourselves through the land. Guided by a teaching on nehiyaw/Cree worldview of natural law by Knowledge Keeper/Cultural Advisor Joseph Naytowhow\, an introduction to the Hindu/Buddhist concept of darshan (focus will be a Buddhist lens) with international Yoga teacher and author\, Brenda Feuerstein\, plus a guided earth walk in Grasslands with conservationist\, rangeland agrologist/rancher and member of the Treaty Land Sharing Network\, Tom Harrison\, we’ll intentionally explore our relationship with the land to develop conscious reciprocity. \n\n\n\nThe weekend will include a simple assignment and reflective walking followed by pranayama breath\, in studio meditation and written/visual response to distill this potent experience. We’ll fledge a nourishing personal practice and consider potential personal actions as a step forward in this earth challenged time.  \n\n\n\nTwo nights accommodation with organic breakfast\, nutritious snacks\, Saturday potluck and all materials provided $895 to honour the weekend.
