Close Relations: Collage & Writing Workshop with Madonna Hamel

By creating surprising partners on paper, (eg. a lichen-covered boulder alongside a child, a giant reptile alongside a tiny man), new stories emerge. Grasslands and local history inspired collage materials will be provided, as well as paints, brushes and paper. Registrants will be encouraged to engage the collage components in active dialogue for self-discovery through story, memoir or poem. The choice is yours! Registration is limited to 8 for social distancing. Ages 14+

Accommodation Package $315 includes registration, all materials, 2 nights accommodation, two breakfasts, 1 Val Marie Hotel restaurant gift certificate and healthy snacks. Cancellation Policy: Full registration refund within two weeks of workshop. Workshop cancellation after this date $25 administration fee retained. 

Madonna Hamel is a professional writer and performer who has worked with collage for over 40 years as a means of creating new material for stories and monologues. Her radio documentaries have won awards and her monologues have toured across North America.
