Grasslands Walk with an Artful Gaze

Join renowned interdisciplinary artist, and master storyteller, Joseph Naytowhow plus land conscious artist/consultant/B & B owner Diana Chabros for a guided cultural experience (drive and walk) in Grasslands National Park. Registrants will be introduced to indigenous culture and the ways of the land according to nehiyaw/Cree worldview. Session will include traditional music, local and Saskatchewan history, traditional smudge, and of course, ‘season appropriate’ stories! Registrants will then process their experience back in the studio using simple found and creative materials. (eg. collage, paint, journal, song…) No experience necessary!
- Registrants provide own transportation.
- Prepayment required (cash, credit card, cheque or etransfer).
- $175/person. Family rate available.
- Minimum age: 10 yrs.
- Bring water, bagged snacks, camera. Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, light gloves, hat. Walking sticks provided.
- Includes light lunch, and organic snacks.
- Note: Traditional protocol will be conducted on behalf of registrants. In case of inclement weather, walk will be held on Sunday, Aug 4th.
